Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Ryukyu Islands to Australia.
Diagnosis:  Formation: phaceloid. Corallites: often closely compacted, less than 10 mm across. Septa: exsert, irregular but approximately uniform in width, if not height. Polyps: fleshy, conceals septal characters. Color: tan to dark brown with pale oral discs (Ref. 848).
Biology:  Occurs in horizontal substrates with turbid water, away from wave action (Ref. 848).
