Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in the supralittoral zone of sandy beaches (Ref. 107485). Semi-terrestrial (Ref. 108393). Found between tide marks up to 25 m (Ref. 115299). In burrows and among coastal vegetation during daytime and emerges at night to scavenge close to high waters (Ref. 108393). Digs as deep as 15 cm into the sand or crawls into reef cavities. Fills up shells with seawater and feeds on Sargassum weeds (Ref. 115299).
