Family:  Acanthochitonidae ()
Max. size:  2.54 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 3 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: USA, Puerto Rico and Aruba.
Diagnosis:  Maximum Total Length: 2.5 centimeters. Girdle: Thin, black, naked; extends upward over the valves except over the narrow; beaded dorsal area. Exposed valves: Appear as streak of white paint along the top of the chiton. Suture: Each has a minute pore bearing short bristles on the girdle, but very difficult to view (Ref.281).
Biology:  Epibiotic (Ref. 110502). Under rocks in the little deep infracoast (Ref. 292).
