Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 599 m
Distribution:  Arctic and Northern Atlantic: from Canadian Arctic, USA, to Norway and Severnaya Zemlya, Russia. Polar to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits deep waters. Completely buries itself in fine sand (Refs. 104163, 104337). Suspension feeder (Ref. 104163). In general, suspension feeding bivalves mainly depend on phytoplankton and detritus material for nutrition (Ref. 107088).
