Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 80 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 101147. Common in shallow water. Attached via its byssus to the undersides of rocks and coral boulders; also on sandy or muddy sand bottoms among coral rubble (Ref. 101147).
