Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: from Mexico to southern Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Dominant shrimp culture species in the world (Ref. 78744). Occurs at depths from 0 to 72 m in bottom mud marine (adults) and estuarine (juveniles) environment. Subtropical to tropical climates (Ref. 8).
