Country info:  Known from Cape point to southern KwaZulu-Natal. Collected by subsistence fishers and recreational divers as a source of food, and diminishing in abundance and size in harvested areas (Ref. 80553 ). Also from False Bay to the Transkei and most abundant along the south and east coast. At present a limit of 5/person/day may be collected and shells must be 5.35 cm in diameter or 7.37 in length (Ref. 81186). O: Ref. 85580.
