Definition of Term

egg development
(English) After fertilization, fish egg development until hatching can roughly be subdivided into eight stages : early cleavage (1-64 cells), morula, blastula, gastrula, early embryo, tail-bud stage, tail-free stage and late embryo. In order to facilitate the determination of the age of fertilized eggs in field studies, staging with up to 30 steps were applied. (See also: egg, incubation period, larvalbase)

(French) Après fécondation et jusqu'à son éclosion, le développement d'un oeuf de poisson peut grossièrement être subdivisé en huit stades  : segmentation précoce (2-64 cellules), morula, blastula, gastrula, embryon précoce, stade bourgeon caudal, stade "queue différenciée libre", embryon terminal. Afin de faciliter la détermination des oeufs fécondés dans les études de terrain, une description jusqu'`a 30 stades étaient utilisée. (See also: egg, incubation period, larvalbase)
