Definition of Term

hypurals
(English) In fish larvae, flattened bones along the ventral side of the urostyle. Those on the dorsal side are called epurals. From these bones the caudal fin rays arise. (See also: urostyle, epurals, larvae)
hypuraux
(French) Chez les larves de poisson, os aplatis le long du côté ventral de l'urostyle. Ceux sur le côté dorsal sont appelés épuraux. Les rayons de la nageoire caudale sont fixés à ces os. (See also: urostyle, epurals, larvae)
hipurais
