Definition of Term

interneural bones
(English) The bones situated between the neural spines of the vertebrae that are situated before the dorsal fin and do not support fin rays (called interneurals or pre-dorsal bones), or that support one or more dorsal-fin spine or ray (called pterygiophores). (See also: dorsal fin, fin rays, vertebrates)
