Distribution: Northern Pacific, Northern Atlantic and the Arctic: Vulpes lagopus lagopus: Russia, Kamchatka, Alaska, Labrador, St Matthew, St Lawrence Is, Diomede Island, Greenland, Washington, Canada, North Pole, Bering Sea, Kuril Is; Vulpes lagopus fuliginosus: Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Svalbard, northern Scandinavia; Vulpes lagopus beringensis: Russia; Vulpes lagopus pribilofensis: St Paul Is and St George Island in the Pribilofs (Ref. 1522).
