Found in sandy to muddy intertidal flats (Ref. 128042). It is embedded. Also found in nipa palm swamps. Stays in an upright position, with the siphons pointing slightly above the surface of the bottom, forming in it a wedge-shaped hole by their whirling movements (Ref. 348).
