Calyx cruciform, about 1 cm wide, with four interradial arms, each divided at the tip into two, with 10 to 15 (up to 25) knobbed tentacles in each of the ieght clusters of secondary tentacles; gonads in eight adrarial rows.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
