One of the most frequently collected species of turban shells in the tropical Southwest Pacific. Mainly used as food, but the shell serves also for making buttons (Ref. 349). Found in coral reef areas, in moderately exposed habitats and in lagoons and atolls (Ref. 349). Found in intertidal to 30 m, on rocks (Ref. 75835).

Members of the order Patellogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
