This species is uncommon in the Philippines (Ref. 94963). Sighted in Mindanao, southern Negros (Ref. 936), Sulu Sea, South China Sea, and around the Babuyan Island group, in Calayan and Camiguin and Zambales (Ref. 94963). Length is up to 274.32 cm (Ref. 936). Reported from Babuyan Islands (121°36’00", 19°18’00"). Dolphins are directly caught for use as shark-bait in Sta. Ana and Aparri (Ref. 77119).
