Ecology Summary - Craspedacusta sowerbii
Ecology of Craspedacusta sowerbii

Main Ref. Acker, T.S. and A.M. Muscat, 1976
Remarks Polyp is microscopic and sessile. It requires relatively stable substrate to attach to. Usually found on rocks, old wood and vegetation. Difficult to observe in its habitat but found to be present without the budding medusae. Medusa occurs seasonally, usually in the summer and early autumn (Ref. 117039). Distributed in many habitats, from small ponds to large reservoirs. Zooplanktivorous (Ref. 117042).
