Remarks In sheltered habitats where there is low wave action. In rocky shore, from lowermost midlittoral zone to upper subtidal. Also in deep tide pools. Epilithic; less common as epiphytic on coralline rhodophytes and epizoic on mussels (Ref. 115110).
