Remarks Obligate mixotroph, requiring both light and prey for long-term survival. Has feeding structures, including food vacuoles and peduncle-like arrangement of microtubular ribbons. Uses its peduncle to extract and ingest cell contents of its prey organism, a ciliate (Ref. 115338).
