Ecology of Gastrosaccus spinifer

Main Ref. Harms, J., 1993
Remarks Associated with the macrobenthos, this species inhabit a wide range of sediment types but often in coarser sediment with mud content not exceeding 70% (Refs. 7882, 96352). This species lives close to the bottom and burrows in mud or sand (Refs. 7882, 85342). Found in areas influenced by estuarine outflows (Ref. 96507). Also found among Zostera seagrass (Ref. 85342). A microvore-carnivore-scavenger that feeds on organic detritus (Ref. 96352).
