Remarks Inhabits shallow waters (Ref. 3113). Littoral (Ref. 115310). Members of the family Sphaeromatidae are omnivores in general (Ref. 108484). Bores into living prop roots of mangroves (Ref. 108486). Gut contents of other wood boring species of Sphaeroma indicates no ingestion of wood particles but algae. Some are capable of filter feeding (Ref. 108487).
