Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Oman, Chagos Islands to South Africa.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common on the outer reef slopes. Also found in reef flats. This species shows preferrence for hard coral prey but also reported to prey upon soft corals and sponges (Ref. 130720).
