Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Indo-West Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common in mud, sand, gravel and mixed sediments with shell remains and high organic matter content (Ref. 107153). A surface deposit feeder (based on the feeding ecology of the family Spionidae; Ref. 87179). Also a motile suspension feeder. Use tentacles to feed (Ref. 125928).
