Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 1 - 110 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific, Western Atlantic, East Africa and the Mediterranean Sea. Tropical and subtropical waters.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common in intertidal coral sands, coralline algae, crevices, under algal mats in tidal pools and at shelf depths (Ref. 1840).
