Distribution:  Western Atlantic, Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean. Tropical and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Neritic; commonly burrows in coral rubble (Ref. 415) soft rock, or dead coral in shallow waters (Ref. 775 and 1840).
