Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Western Atlantic, Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean. Tropical and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Neritic; commonly burrows in coral rubble (Ref. 415) soft rock, or dead coral in shallow waters (Ref. 775 and 1840). Known as a benthic species (Ref. 85346). Shallow water; burrowing in coral rubble or soft rock; common (Ref. 415). Lives in dead coral and soft rock in shallow waters (Refs. 775, 1840). Coral reefs (Ref. 116123).
