Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, Madagascar to Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia, Philippines. Tropical to subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits reef slopes and walls with moderate to strong currents at depths of 1 to 100 m. Filter feeds on plankton at night and hides under corals or crevices at day time (Ref. 800).
