Distribution:  Western Atlantic: USA to Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Carapace has well-defined linea thalassinica and cervical groove; rostrum is short and anteriorly rounded, weakly to moderately developed, reaching well beyond the eyes' cornea; body poorly calcified and thin-walled abdomen.
