Diagnosis: | The body has a distinct bulge near the proboscis covered with I broad band of small hooks. A second band occurs on the body between the bulge and the proboscis.The proboscis is short, club-shaped and has numerous large, uniform hooks (16- 20 usually 18 longitudinal (spiral) rows of 8-9 hooks each). Lemnisci (in adults) are elongate. The form B. thunni was distinguished because it had short lemnisci (0.8 mm long). | |||
