Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 300 m
Distribution:  Northern Atlantic and Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Valves: Moderately elevated valves; smooth except for growth wrinkles; Colored a light tan covered with a marbling of orange-red, or entirely red. Girdle: Reddish brown with weak maculations and covered with minute, elongated scales.
