Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean and Indo-West Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Often abundant in mangrove root communities (Refs. 1758, 121478), and an uncommon inhabitat of the reefs and ridges (Ref. 1758). It is abundantly overgrowing on oyster shells and other hard substrates (Ref. 86424).
