Shell is white or yellowish white, with pinkish brown speckles. Some valves mostly pinkish brown. Girdle is translucent white, having scattered clusters of brown. Interior of shell is translucent white. Valves carinate. Anterior valve smooth, and has a straight slope. Dorsal surface of the girdle is covered with elongate, slightly curved, pointed, inwardly directed, and closely-packed spines. |
