Valves: Slightly carinate. Lateral areas: Distinctly defined, raised, and bear numerous, larger, more distantly spaced beads which may or may not be present on the dorsal region. Central areas: Fifteen to twenty longitudinal rows of raised, neat beads. Girdle: Narrow; mottled cream; brown in color; microscopically granulose and has sparsely scattered transparent short hairs. Valves: Northern part, buff to ashen in color; West coast of Florida, vary from light-gray, mauve, yellow to white (Ref. 281). |
