Distribution:  Arctic, Atlantic Ocean and the Antarctic.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Often abundant in the infra-littoral fringe on small red algae, notably Phyllophora membranifolia (Ref. 96585). A suspension/filter feeder; captures particles and transports it to the mouth by a flicking action (Ref. 96587).
