Distribution:  Circumglobal in warm seas.
Diagnosis:  Low conical limpet-like shell, apex is spirally coiled. Dorsal surface is ray-white with spirally arranged spines or knobby projections. Ventral surface is purple or black and smooth with distinct cup-like projections (Ref. 3350).
