Distribution:  Northeast Pacific and North America.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit hard bottoms, on boulders, above the halocline, often forming multilayered mats. Abundant at salinities of less than 5 psu. A suspension feeder, feeds on benthic microalgae/phytoplankton (Ref. 83435).
