Distribution:  Cosmopolitan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  It is known to be sensitive to changes in water salinity wherein heavy mortality is observed in low salinity conditions (Ref. 86424). This species was found to contain important pharmacological properties for anti-tumor activity (Ref. 86358).
