Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Western Atlantic. Tropical and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 109264. This species is found intertidal or offshore, in cienaga facies, coral reefs, and reef lagoons, particularly on algae, coral, octocoral, rock, rubble, sand, shell, and sponge habitats (Ref. 83934). Detritivore (Ref. 109264).
