Environment:  others; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 1 m
Distribution:  Northeast Pacific, Northeast Atlantic and the Arctic. Temperate to polar.
Diagnosis:  Culmen: 2.555 cm; tarsus: 3.675 cm; wing: 20.15 cm (Ref. 356). Medium-sized duck; male: blue overall; white slashes on shoulder, neck and back; white spots on head and neck; chestnut flanks; female: brown overall; white ear spot (Ref. 94965).
Biology:  Depth range based on occurrence (Ref. 115936), to be replaced with a better reference.
