Max. size: 
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Yemen, Maldives, Indonesia to Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Formation: hemispherical or flat; rarely exceeds 0.2 m across. Valleys: short, often wide, usually less than 25 mm wide. Walls: thick, may have an ambulacral groove in extreme cases. Thick costae. Septa: thick, with large blunt spines. Columellae: large, centered in valleys. Color: cream (Ref. 848).
