Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Colonies: horizontal to vertical plates or thick columns and branches. Corallites: immersed and distinct. Coenosteum: tuberculae fused into ridges forming the same pattern as Porites rus (Poritidae) and Montipora confusa. Green; Purple; Blue or brown; with pale growing margins (Ref. 846).
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 98471. Inhabits mostly upper reef slopes (Ref. 846).
