Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 5 - 237 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean, Northern and Central Pacific, Mediterranean Sea and the Arctic. Tropical to polar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 117328. "Nestles" in fine, agglutinated sand; anchors on beach debris of tunicates or seaweed stalks (Ref. 95344).
