Environment:  sessile; brackish; marine; depth range 4 - 25 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Encrusting: 0.2 - 5 cm thick; soft and fragile. Color variable, from reddish orange to gray. Distinctive bright orange specks scattered throughout the surface (Ref. 415).
Biology:  Maximum thickness: 5 cm (Ref. 415).
