Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 200 - 400 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Vanuatu.
Diagnosis:  It has a 40-50% shell coloration. It has a plugged umbilicus. The pigmentation has stripes extending from venter to umbilicus. It is similar in size, color pattern and degree of shel covered by pigment to N. macromphalus but that doesn't have a plugged umbilicus.
