Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 730 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: USA and Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Girdle: minutely scaled medium wide; profusely covered with glassy spines; extends between the valves to the jugal ridge. Mucro: Median and less prominent. Sculpture of central area: Wavy longitudinal ribs. Lateral areas: Faintly defined by ridges. Color of valves: Reddish buff with matching girdle (Ref. 296).
