Distribution:  Atlantic, Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific: Caribbean, Mediterranean, Western and eastern Africa to Polynesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on coral reefs, secondary hard substrates, e.g., breakwaters, wood and wrecks in shallow and deeper waters and always below low tide mark. Avoids turbid water and reduced salinity (Ref. 80041).
