Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from central East Africa, not in the northwest Indian Ocean, to Melanesia; north to southern Japan, and south to northern Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Collected where abundant. Shell used in shellcraft (Ref. 349).
