Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from western Indonesia to Melanesia; north to southern Japan and south to northern Queensland and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occasionally collected for food and for its shell where common (Ref. 349).
