Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Known from locations more exposed to wind and weather such as rocky areas; prefer waters of the continental shelf and slope. Feeds on a wide variety of pelagic near-surface fishes and squids, and benthic prey, particularly octopuses; and occasionally feeds on penguins and other marine birds. Found in locations more exposed to wind and weather; prefer waters of the continental shelf and slope. Country info:  Known from southern coast; rookeries from Eclipse Island, Western Australia, east to Maatsuyker Island off the south end of Tasmania, and formerly east of Bass Strait to Cape Barren Island in the Furneaux Group Tasmania (Ref. 1522); also found in Kangaroo Island, South Australia (Ref. 75211).
