Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 2 - 45 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Chile, Ecuador and Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This is a nocturnal species hiding in cavities and are found on sand, algae and rocks at depths of 2 to 45 m. Its food preferences are polychaetes, bivalves and dead fish (Ref. 87801). Distributed between the tidal zone and 45m deep in MehuĂ­n Bay, Chile (Ref. 125913).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the Peruvian Province to Golfo de Penas and Strait of Magellan; collected by fishermen when they dive and traps are also used (Ref. 87801). Also known from Chiloe to Cape Horn (Ref. 78378). C: Refs. 87801, 90098, 92798, 78378; O: Refs. 92798, 105291.
