Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Color is usually dark reddish-brown. Calices are generally highly plocoid and conical, with ridged outer thecal walls that are formed by extensions of the septa.
Biology:  Depth based from occurrence (Ref. 8294); to be replaced with a better reference.

Country info:  Abundance is said to be uncommon in Hong Kong (Ref. 121111). Known from Gruff Head, Chek Chau, and Tolo Channel (Ref. 125433). Also known from the clear waters of Mirs Bay and Double Haven (Ref. 130769). C: Refs. 121111, 125433, 130769; M: Ref. 121111.
