Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Indonesia to Melanesia, north to Japan and south to Australia. Tropical to subtropical.
Diagnosis:  Formation: encrusting, usually small. Corallites: cerioid, with irregular angular shapes; usually conspicuous central corallite. Compact septa, small columellae. Not fleshy. Color: usually pale gray, brown, or rust colored; often mottled (Ref. 848).
